10 countries with the largest coral reef areas

Global coral reef distribution is led by Indonesia, which holds the largest reef area in the world at 51,020 km², accounting for 17.95% of the planet’s total coral reefs. In second place is Australia, home to 48,960 km² of coral reefs or 17.22% of the global total.
