Cabin crew play an important role in shaping the passenger experience, from welcoming travelers and providing meals to maintaining safety and assisting passengers throughout a flight.
In the 2026 World Airline Awards, Skytrax recognized ten airlines for having the world's best cabin crew, with all ten coming from Asia. The ranking evaluates both the technical and interpersonal aspects of cabin service, including efficiency, attentiveness, friendliness, enthusiasm, and hospitality.
Cathay Pacific Airways takes the top position in the 2026 ranking. The Hong Kong-based airline was recognized for the overall professionalism and hospitality of its cabin crew.
Singapore Airlines follows in second place, continuing its strong reputation for attentive and refined onboard service. Malaysia Airlines ranks third, while Hainan Airlines takes fourth place. ANA All Nippon Airways completes the top five, reflecting the strong representation of Asian carriers among the world's leading cabin crews.
The second half of the ranking begins with EVA Air, which occupies sixth place. Taiwan's carrier is followed by STARLUX Airlines in seventh. Garuda Indonesia ranks as “hard service” and “soft service” characteristics. Hard service includes techniques, efficiency, and attention, while soft service covers qualities such as attitude, friendliness, enthusiasm, and hospitality.
This approach means the eighth and is also recognized by Skytrax as the best airline for cabin crew in Indonesia. Japan Airlines comes ninth, while Thai Airways completes the global top ten.
The dominance of Asian airlines in this category is particularly notable. Skytrax's regional results also place many of the same carriers among the leading airline staff in Asia. Malaysia Airlines ranks first for overall airline staff service in the region, followed by Cathay Pacific and ANA, while Hainan Airlines and Singapore Airlines also appear among the top five.
Skytrax explains that its Best Airline Cabin Crew awards assess the overall performance of cabin staff across both what it describes as “hard service” and “soft service” characteristics.
Hard service includes techniques, efficiency, and attention, while soft service covers qualities such as attitude, friendliness, enthusiasm, and hospitality. This approach means the ranking considers more than simply the appearance or friendliness of flight attendants; it reflects multiple aspects of the onboard service experience.
The 2026 results therefore highlight the continued prominence of Asian airlines in international cabin service.
From Cathay Pacific's first-place position to Thai Airways' appearance at tenth, the ranking features airlines from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand. Together, these carriers demonstrate the wide geographic representation of Asian aviation and the importance placed on passenger service across the region.
