Among all countries in the world, Americans love these countries the most.
Public opinion surveys provide valuable insights into how Americans view the world. Favorable ratings of foreign countries often reflect a combination of cultural connections, economic ties, tourism appeal, shared values, and diplomatic relationships.
According to recent polling data by Gallup, ten countries stand out as America’s most favored nations, earning strong positive ratings from the U.S. public.
Japan ranks first with an impressive 85% favorable rating. Over the decades, Japan has transformed from a former adversary into one of America’s closest allies. Its reputation for technological innovation, rich culture, and strong economic partnership contributes to its exceptional standing among Americans.
Italy follows closely at 84%. Known for its history, art, cuisine, and tourism attractions, Italy enjoys widespread admiration in the United States. Strong cultural ties and a large Italian-American community further strengthen this positive perception.
Canada and Denmark come next, each receiving an 80% favorable rating. Canada benefits from being America’s closest neighbor and largest trading partner, while Denmark is often admired for its high quality of life, social welfare system, and progressive policies.
France and the United Kingdom both earn 76% favorable ratings. France remains highly regarded for its cultural influence, cuisine, fashion, and historic alliance with the United States.
The United Kingdom continues to be viewed favorably due to the long-standing “special relationship” between the two nations, supported by close cooperation in defense, intelligence, and trade.
Germany receives a 75% favorable rating, reflecting respect for its economic strength, technological leadership, and role as a key partner within Europe. Germany’s commitment to democracy and international cooperation also contributes to its positive image.
Mexico ranks eighth with a 66% favorable rating. Despite ongoing debates over immigration and border policy, Americans generally maintain positive views of Mexico due to strong economic integration, cultural exchange, and deep family and community connections across the border.
Ukraine follows with a 63% favorable rating. Since the Russian invasion in 2022, American public support for Ukraine has increased significantly, driven by sympathy for its defense of sovereignty and democratic values.
India rounds out the top ten with a 61% favorable rating. As the world’s largest democracy and a rapidly growing economic power, India has strengthened its relationship with the United States through expanding trade, technology cooperation, and strategic partnerships.
