Asia’s retail landscape in 2026 is dominated by companies with enormous store networks, particularly convenience-store operators that have built their businesses around accessibility, everyday essentials, and dense urban and suburban coverage.

Based on the percentages provided, the ten retailers with the highest proportions of their total stores represented in the relevant Asian markets are led by China’s Meiyijia at 97.77%, followed by Japan’s Seven & i at 94.73% and China’s Easy Joy at 93.68%. These figures illustrate the remarkable concentration and scale of Asia’s convenience-retail industry.

China’s Meiyijia leads the ranking with 97.77%. The company is one of China’s largest convenience-store chains and had 40,147 outlets at the end of 2025, according to the 2026 China Convenience Store Top 100 compiled by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association.

Japan’s Seven & i ranks second at 94.73%. Best known internationally through the 7-Eleven brand, the group has developed one of the world's most extensive convenience-store networks.

China’s Easy Joy, operated by Sinopec, follows at 93.68%. Easy Joy combines convenience retail with the group's extensive fuel-station network, giving it a distinctive distribution advantage.

At 93.38%, Japan’s FamilyMart takes fourth place. The brand has become a familiar part of daily life across numerous Asian markets, offering food, beverages, household necessities, and services in highly accessible locations.

Indonesia’s Indomaret, with 93.06%, ranks fifth and represents the strength of Indonesia’s domestic retail industry. Its large network allows the chain to reach consumers in cities, towns, and residential communities throughout the country.

Japan’s Lawson occupies sixth place with 92.18%. Lawson is another major Japanese convenience-store brand with a substantial Asian footprint. In China alone, Lawson had 7,068 stores at the end of 2025, according to the latest Chinese convenience-store ranking.

Indonesia’s Alfamart follows closely at 91.39%. Alongside Indomaret, it is one of Indonesia’s most recognizable modern retail chains and has played a major role in bringing organized convenience retail into neighborhoods nationwide.

At 91.37%, India’s Reliance Retail ranks eighth. Unlike the predominantly convenience-focused businesses on this list, Reliance Retail operates across multiple formats, making it one of Asia’s most diversified retail groups.

China’s Kunlun Hospitality, at 90.76%, is another major convenience operator. Known in China as Kunlun Haoke, it operated 19,814 stores at the end of 2025.

Finally, Thailand’s CP All completes the top ten with 90.74%. Its extensive 7-Eleven operation has made convenience stores a central part of Thailand’s retail environment. Together, these ten companies demonstrate the extraordinary scale, geographic reach, and competitive strength of Asia’s modern retail sector in 2026.
