Australia's population in 2025 reflects the country's long history of immigration and cultural diversity. According to the latest figures, the nation has a total population of approximately 27.61 million people.

Of these, 18,779,950 people (68%) were born in Australia, while 8,833,710 people (32%) were born overseas. This means that nearly one in every three Australian residents was born in another country, making Australia one of the world's most multicultural nations.

Among overseas-born residents, India has become the largest country of birth, with 971,020 people, representing 3.5% of Australia's total population.

Close behind is the United Kingdom, with 970,950 people, also accounting for 3.5%. These two communities are the largest overseas-born groups and continue to make significant contributions to Australia's economy, education, and cultural life.

The Chinese-born population is the third largest, with 731,540 people (2.6%), followed by New Zealand-born residents at 637,680 (2.3%). Both communities have played an important role in Australia's social and economic development through business, education, tourism, and skilled migration.

Other major overseas-born populations include the Philippines, with 412,530 people (1.5%), and Vietnam, with 326,630 people (1.2%).
