Enjoyment is an important component of emotional well-being, reflecting the extent to which people experience pleasure, happiness, and positive moments in their daily lives. The State of the World’s Emotional Health 2025 report measures this by asking respondents whether they experienced enjoyment during the previous day.

The results reveal that people in several countries consistently report high levels of enjoyment, highlighting the role of culture, social connections, and quality of life in shaping positive emotions.

Topping the global ranking is Denmark, where an impressive 93% of respondents said they experienced enjoyment the day before. Denmark has long been recognized for its high quality of life, strong social support systems, and emphasis on work-life balance, factors that may contribute to its exceptional performance.

Close behind is Paraguay with 92%, continuing a trend seen in previous well-being surveys where the South American nation ranks highly for positive daily experiences. Indonesia follows in third place at 91%, demonstrating the strong sense of community, family ties, and social interaction that characterize life in the country.

Several other nations reported remarkably high levels of enjoyment. Mexico achieved 90%, while Guatemala, Iceland, Panama, and Uzbekistan each recorded 88%. Despite their differences in geography, economy, and culture, these countries share a common feature: a large majority of residents report experiencing positive emotions in their daily lives.

Further down the top rankings are Costa Rica with 87%, as well as Chile and Malaysia, both with 86%. Costa Rica is frequently praised for its relaxed lifestyle and focus on well-being, while Chile and Malaysia demonstrate that positive emotional experiences are not limited to any single region of the world.

One of the most striking aspects of the findings is the diversity of the countries represented. The list includes nations from Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Central Asia, suggesting that enjoyment is influenced by more than just economic prosperity.

Social relationships, cultural values, community engagement, and personal outlook all appear to play significant roles in shaping how people experience their daily lives.

The State of the World’s Emotional Health 2025 report highlights that enjoyment remains a vital indicator of overall well-being.

While income and material conditions are important, the ability to find joy in everyday experiences may be just as essential to a fulfilling life. These top-ranked countries provide valuable insights into the factors that help people maintain positive emotions and enjoy life to the fullest.
