Luxury hotels compete not only through beautiful properties and excellent facilities, but also through the strength of their brands. A powerful hotel brand can create trust, loyalty, recognition, and a strong emotional connection with guests.

According to Brand Finance’s Hotels 50 2026 luxury-hotel ranking, these ten brands stand out for their exceptional brand strength. Brand Finance measures brand strength through its Brand Strength Index (BSI), which considers factors including marketing investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance.

At the top is Taj, with an impressive BSI score of 93.5 out of 100 and an AAA+ rating. Taj retains its position as the world's strongest luxury hotel brand, supported by its distinctive combination of Indian heritage, personalized hospitality, and timeless luxury.

Its ability to combine cultural identity with modern expectations has helped make it an internationally respected name.

Hilton follows with 87.1, earning an AAA rating. The brand benefits from its global reputation, premium positioning, and extensive luxury portfolio, which includes names such as Waldorf Astoria and Conrad.

Marriott, with 83.4, ranks third among the strongest luxury hotel brands. Its broad international presence and diverse luxury portfolio contribute significantly to its brand strength.

Close behind is Pestana Hotel Group, scoring 83.2. The Portuguese group has developed a strong international identity while maintaining its connection to its heritage. JI Hotel, with 79.9, demonstrates the growing influence of Chinese hospitality brands on the global market.

Pan Pacific Hotels Group scores 79.3, reflecting its reputation for refined hospitality across Asia, Europe, and North America. Meliá follows with 76.5, combining Spanish hospitality traditions with an international portfolio.

Shangri-La, one of Asia's best-known luxury names, records a score of 74.6, reinforcing its reputation for elegant service and memorable guest experiences.

The final two brands in the top ten are Embassy Suites Hotel, with 73.0, and Hyatt, with 72.7. Hyatt's global luxury portfolio includes prestigious brands such as Park Hyatt, Alila, Miraval, and Andaz, helping it maintain a strong position among luxury travelers.

Together, these ten brands demonstrate that luxury hospitality is about much more than expensive rooms.

Heritage, service quality, customer trust, consistency, and memorable experiences are crucial to building a powerful hotel brand. Taj's leading score particularly shows how a distinctive cultural identity, combined with personalized service and modern luxury, can create a brand that stands out on the world stage.
