Southeast Asia has become one of the world’s most dynamic digital travel markets, with millions of travelers using online platforms to book hotels, flights, transportation, tours, and activities. In 2025, a combination of global companies and strong regional brands dominated the online travel landscape.

According to STAAH’s 2025 booking-channel data, Booking.com led the region, followed closely by Agoda, Trip.com, and Expedia, while Traveloka remained an important Southeast Asian player.

Booking.com, headquartered in the Netherlands, was one of the region’s leading travel platforms. Its extensive accommodation network and strong international presence make it popular with both local and overseas travelers.

Agoda, based in Singapore, has particularly strong connections with Asian travelers. The platform is widely used for hotel reservations and other travel services and remained one of Southeast Asia’s most influential booking channels in 2025.

Trip.com, from China, has expanded its international presence significantly. Besides hotels and flights, it offers transportation, attractions, and other travel-related services, making it an increasingly important platform across Asia.

Expedia, headquartered in the United States, is another major global travel company serving Southeast Asian travelers. Its broad international network gives users access to hotels, flights, vacation packages, and other travel products.

From Indonesia, Traveloka has become one of Southeast Asia’s best-known homegrown travel platforms. It offers hotels, flights, trains, buses, and activities, with particularly strong popularity in Indonesia and neighboring markets.

Klook, headquartered in Hong Kong, has developed a different strength by concentrating heavily on experiences. Travelers can use the platform to book attractions, tours, transportation, tickets, and activities throughout the region.

Tiket.com, another Indonesian platform, provides bookings for hotels, flights, trains, attractions, and events. It remains an important competitor in Indonesia’s highly competitive digital travel market.

AirAsia MOVE, based in Malaysia, combines travel services with the wider AirAsia ecosystem. In 2025, it received the World Travel Tech Awards’ title of Asia’s Best Travel Booking App, highlighting its growing role in the regional market.

Tripadvisor, from the United States, remains particularly influential for travel research. Its reviews, ratings, recommendations, and destination information help travelers decide where to stay, eat, and visit.

Finally, KKday, based in Taiwan, focuses strongly on tours, attractions, activities, and travel experiences, making it a notable competitor to Klook.

These ten platforms demonstrate the diversity and competitiveness of Southeast Asia’s online travel industry.

Global companies provide extensive international reach, while regional platforms benefit from their understanding of local travelers, destinations, payment preferences, and travel habits. As digital tourism continues to grow, these platforms are likely to remain central to how people plan and experience travel across Southeast Asia.
