Skytrax's Five-Star Airlines in 2026
Skytrax has updated their list for five-star airlines in 2026.
The global aviation industry recognizes only a small group of airlines with the prestigious five-star rating from Skytrax. In 2026, ten airlines earned this distinction for outstanding onboard comfort, airport services, cabin quality, and customer experience.
The list is dominated by Asian carriers, alongside one leading Middle Eastern airline, reflecting the region’s strong reputation for premium aviation services.
Japan is represented by ANA and Japan Airlines. ANA is internationally admired for its punctuality, attentive hospitality, and modern cabins, while Japan Airlines combines refined Japanese service with comfort and reliability. Both carriers consistently rank among the world’s best long-haul airlines.
South Korea contributes two major airlines: Asiana Airlines and Korean Air. Asiana is known for elegant cabin service and passenger comfort, whereas Korean Air has earned praise for inflight dining, entertainment, and airport services. Korean Air maintained its five-star status for the sixth consecutive year in 2026.
Taiwan’s aviation industry is represented by EVA Air and STARLUX Airlines. EVA Air achieved its eleventh consecutive five-star recognition thanks to excellent lounges, efficient services, and premium economy innovations. STARLUX, a newer airline, quickly gained international recognition for its luxury-focused passenger experience.
From Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific continues to be one of Asia’s most respected airlines, famous for premium cabins and inflight entertainment. Mainland China’s Hainan Airlines also remains on the exclusive list, recognized for high-quality hospitality and comfortable long-haul travel.
Southeast Asia is represented by Singapore Airlines, widely regarded as a symbol of luxury air travel. The airline is celebrated for its cabin crew service, innovative aircraft cabins, and premium dining experiences.
Finally, the Middle East’s representative is Qatar Airways, known for its world-class business class, global network, and exceptional customer service. The airline frequently wins international awards and remains one of the strongest competitors in global aviation.
Together, these ten airlines define the highest standards in commercial aviation and continue to shape the future of premium international travel.
