Together, these leading exporters demonstrate the region’s diverse economic strengths, ranging from electronics and financial services to manufacturing, commodities, and agricultural products.
Singapore took the top position with exports valued at US$554.6 billion. Despite its relatively small geographic size, Singapore has established itself as a major international trading, financial, and logistics hub. Its strategic location and highly developed infrastructure contribute to its strong position in global commerce.
Vietnam ranked second, recording US$475.0 billion in exports. The country has become an increasingly important manufacturing center, particularly for electronics, machinery, textiles, footwear, and other manufactured goods. Its strong export performance reflects Vietnam’s growing integration into international supply chains.
Malaysia placed third with US$365.2 billion, supported by its diversified economy and strong trade in electrical and electronic products, petroleum-related goods, machinery, and other manufactured products. Thailand followed in fourth place with US$339.6 billion, reflecting the importance of its automotive, electronics, agricultural, and industrial sectors.
Indonesia ranked fifth, with exports totaling US$282.9 billion. As Southeast Asia’s largest economy by population and one of its most resource-rich countries, Indonesia benefits from exports of commodities and manufactured products. The Philippines came next with US$84.4 billion, placing sixth in the regional ranking.
The remaining countries recorded substantially smaller export revenues. Cambodia ranked seventh with US$30.7 billion, followed by Brunei at US$9.1 billion. Myanmar recorded US$6.9 billion, narrowly ahead of Laos at US$6.8 billion. Timor-Leste ranked last, with exports valued at just US$0.1 billion.
The ranking highlights the wide range of economic and trade capacities across Southeast Asia. The top five countries accounted for the overwhelming majority of the listed export revenue, while smaller economies contributed comparatively modest amounts. Nevertheless, each country plays a role in the region’s interconnected trading network.
Overall, the 2025 figures show that Southeast Asia’s export landscape is dominated by major commercial and manufacturing economies, while smaller nations continue to participate through more specialized and emerging sectors. The region’s diverse economic structures remain an important foundation for its role in global trade.
