In-flight dining has become an increasingly important part of the airline travel experience. While airline meals were once often associated with limited choices and ordinary flavours, many airlines are now investing in high-quality ingredients, regional cuisine, chef-designed menus, and improved presentation.

According to Canstar Travel Insurance’s 2026 study, the top 10 airlines for in-flight dining demonstrate how food can become an important part of the journey. Canstar analysed more than 125,000 passenger reviews to rank the world’s top 100 airlines for in-flight dining.

At the top of the list is AEGEAN Airlines of Greece. It received a score of 7.82 out of 10, with Canstar highlighting its fresh, regionally inspired dishes and Greek hospitality. The airline’s food philosophy is influenced by filema, a Greek concept associated with sharing food as an expression of hospitality.

In second place is Qatar Airways, followed by Asiana Airlines in third. EVA Air ranks fourth, while Singapore Airlines takes fifth place. These airlines are recognised for their focus on quality meals and the overall passenger dining experience.

Korean Air ranks sixth, followed by All Nippon Airways (ANA) in seventh and Japan Airlines (JAL) in eighth. The strong representation of Asian airlines is particularly notable. Seven of the ten airlines in Canstar’s top 10 are from Asia, demonstrating the region’s significant presence in highly rated in-flight dining. South Korea and Japan each have two airlines in the top 10.

In ninth place is Kuwait Airways, while Garuda Indonesia completes the top 10. Garuda Indonesia’s inclusion is particularly notable for Indonesia, as the airline incorporates Indonesian culinary influences into its onboard dining.

Overall, Canstar’s 2026 ranking shows the growing diversity of airline dining. From Greek-inspired cuisine on AEGEAN to Asian and Indonesian flavours, these airlines demonstrate how regional food traditions can contribute to the passenger experience.

The ranking also highlights that excellent in-flight dining is no longer limited to a few major international carriers, with airlines from different parts of the world earning recognition for their approach to food at altitude.
